The complete guide & itinerary of Chardham yatra by My Tirth India

Day 1

The tour starts with meeting the driver of My Tirth India at the airport/railway station from where you will be taken to Haridwar. After you check into the hotel, you can have a complete rest and then we shall escort you to an evening visit to the Ganga Aarti at the Har-Ki Pauri. Then back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Haridwar-Barkot – 8 hours of drive. The next day starts from Haridwar with a destination as Barkot. This road trip is via Mussoorie when you can see the Mussoorie Lake and Kempty Falls in Mussoorie. Once you reach Barkot, you can check into the hotel. We shall make all the booking arrangements. You can stay and rest for the day.

Day 3

Yamunotri – Barkot – a drive of 36 kilometers and 6 kilometers on the trek. This will be an interesting journey for you because it includes a trek with beautiful views. We shall start the day with an early morning breakfast, then drive to Janki Chatti, and then start the trek from there to Yamunotri. After taking the trek, you can opt for the bath in JamunabaiKund’s warm water and take darshan at the Yamunaji. Then we return to Janki Chatti and start the drive to Barkot.

Day 4

Barkot to Uttarkashi. After reaching Barkot on Day 3, we shall arrange a hotel for your overnight stay. Then start our journey on Day 4 with an early morning breakfast and drive to Uttarkashi. We shall arrange your dinner and overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 5

Uttarkashi to Gangotri – After the overnight stay at Uttarkashi, we shall start Day 5 with a drive for Gangotri. The distance is 95 kilometers from Uttarkashi. It takes 3-4 hours to reach Gangotri. You can experience the magnificent Gangotri temple throughout the day. Also, further up on the way to Gangotri is the hot water spring at Gangnani. You can have a refreshing bath in the kund known as the Rishikund.

Day 6

Uttarkashi to Guptakashi – a distance of 240 kilometers which is covered in 8-9 hours. After breakfast, we start driving towards Guptakashi. It is important to leave very early in the morning because it will be almost a day’s drive to Guptakashi. We shall arrange for dinner and an overnight stay at Guptakashi.

Day 7

Guptakashi to Kedarnath – a distance of 35 kilometers by vehicle and 21 kilometers on foot. After the overnight stay at Guptakashi, we shall start our journey towards Kedarnath. You will have the whole day to complete your tour at the Kedarnath temple. An interesting fact about the Kedarnath Temple is, it is 1000 years old. Half a kilometer apart, you can also visit the Bhaironath Temple. This is a small temple dedicated to Bhaironath which is worshipped at the opening and closing of Sri Kedarnath Shrine.

Day 8

On the 8th day after completing breakfast, we shall move towards Guptakashi. Here you will also have the complete day to explore Guptakashi. We shall arrange for dinner and an overnight stay at Guptakashi.

Day 9

On the 9th day, the plan is to move towards Badrinath from Guptakashi. We shall start our yatra towards the 4th Dham. You will have dinner and overnight stay at Badrinath. A very interesting fact of Badrinath is it is cradled between two mountains, the Nar and Narayana mountain. Also, it is the holiest of all the four shrines of Chardham.

At one point in time, the whole location was filled with Badris or wild berries, which is why the location became popularly known as Badri van. There is a recess in the river Alakananda, known as Narad Kund. it is a pool where the Badrinath idol was recovered. There are other places to visit in Badrinath as well. These places include Brahma Kapal, Bhim Puri, and Vyas Gufa.

Day 10

This is the day when we move towards Badrinath to Rudraprayag. The distance is around 160 kilometers and it will take 6-7 hours. During our route to Rudraprayag, you can also visit the Vishnu Prayag where two rivers meet. These two rivers are known as Dhauli and Alakananda. You will arrive at Joshimath and visit the temple of Adi Guru Shankaracharya. Here we have planned your overnight stay and dinner.

Day 11

On the final day, we return to Haridwar from Rudraprayag. On the way back, you can also visit Rishikesh, Ram Jhoola, Prabhat Niketan, Laxman Jhoola. We shall arrange your dinner and overnight stay at Haridwar.
