KRISHNA JANMBHOOMI, MATHURA

Krishna Janmabhoomi, also known as Krishna Janmasthan Temple, is located in Mallapura, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. This city situated on the banks of Yamuna is quite famous for its many mythological stories. Krishna was born in the prison of Mathura. He was the 8th child of mother Devaki and father Vasudev. It is said that when Lord Krishna was born Then the doors of the prison had opened and the guard were sleeping at that time. Krishna Janmathan in Mathura is important because it is the place where Lord Shri Krishna manifested himself in the prison of the cruel king Kansa and freed his father Vasudev and his mother Devaki His objective was to destroy evil, protect virtue and establish righteousness on a firm footing. This relationship of Shri Krishna with Mathura started in Dwapar Yuga. When Narayana himself appeared as a light in a dungeon of Mathura on the night of Ashtami amid the darkness of Kansa's atrocities. It is said that the place where Krishnap Janmavasthapana is located today in Mathura, was there for 5000 years. Earlier, at a place named Katra Keshavdev, there used to be the prison of King Kansa. Lord Krishna was born in the same prison at midnight in the Rohini constellation. There is a detailed description of the birth of Shri Krishna in Bhagwat Purana. Religious traditions say that Kanhaiya is still present in every corner of Brajbhoomi. What a beautiful temple is situated at the place where Krishna was born. Not only this, the idol of Shri Krishna is installed on that prison The birth of Lord Krishna is one of the most interesting episodes of Bhagavata Purana and Mahabharata.
